Splott Studio FAQ

Does the lesson price include materials?
Yes! All regular classes and lessons include materials, with the exception of digital art classes which require your student to have an iPad or lap-top computer. If a student in individual private lessons would like to explore a new medium not taught, additional charges for new supplies may apply.

What will my child learn?
Your child will learn a wide variety of art types techniques and skills, including but not limited to: Drawing, Painting, Collage, Mixed Media, Sculpture, and Digital Art (13+). Media includes: Pencil, Pen & Ink, Colored Pencil, Watercolor, Acrylic/Tempra, Marker, Clay, Cut Paper, Charcoal, Pastel, Oil Pastel and more!

How far in advance should I schedule my lessons?
As soon as possible and at least 24 hours in advance of your desired date/time. Classes fill-up fast, so make your selections quickly! Due to the nature of our project plans, we cannot accept Drop-ins on the day of a class.

How many Trial Lessons can I sign-up for?
Trial Lessons are designed to try-out a Splott Studio class. These are available one-time, for New Students ONLY.

Do I drop-off my child or stick around?
You may drop your child off at the studio. There are many shops and restaurants close by in Evaporator Works and Downtown Hudson. Don't miss our personal favorite spots, Heartwood Coffee & Fork and Knife!

How does my child keep up on their skills outside of class?
We encourage each student to keep a sketchbook outside of class. This is THE best way to keep the creative energy high! Another fun way to polish skills outside of class is to make art on their own! Use the knowledge you've gained from class create your own pieces at home!

What's the difference between a single class and a bundle?
A Single Class is just that–a class to be used one time. A Class Bundle is a series or single classes purchased together, which discounts the price of each individual class. Bundle Classes may be used weekly or monthly and are good for one year from the date of purchase.

What happens if I miss a class?
If you need to miss a class you are scheduled for, please notify us AT LEAST 48 hours in advance so we may provide the open spot to a student on the waitlist. Failure to do so results in forfeiture of that class purchase entirely. If you notify us within the allotted time-frame, you will be able to re-schedule your missed class for another day. Dates and times are TBD on a first come, first-served basis.

Where are Splott Studio classes held?
Splott Studio classes are held at Splott Graphics: 34 Ravenna Street, #2, Hudson. Refer to this map for more complete directions.

What should I wear to my class?
Please wear comfortable clothing to class. Some days might be messier than others (paint, clay, etc.), so please anticipate this and opt for pants and t-shirt instead of your Sunday best!

Should I bring anything to class?
Please bring a water bottle to class. If you are working in a sketchbook and you would like to bring that for inspiration, please do so! We ask that you DO NOT bring toys, hand-held gaming units, outside art supplies or any other items that may be a distraction for the class. If you have a phone, please make sure it remains in a purse/backpack or pocket and it is silenced out of courtesy for your other classmates.

Can I bring food to class?
We ask that you DO NOT bring any food items to class. Due to potential students with food allergies that may be present, no food items are permitted during class.

What is your COVID19 Mask Policy?
At this time, we ask that your student wears a mask during their Splott Studio class. If your student is fully vaccinated, masks are optional, but encouraged. We want to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our staff, students and their families.
